Softball and tennis weren’t the only sports at Media Day this week. Wednesday, February 12 was the Media Day for softball, tennis, lacrosse and water polo. PTVI was there to capture it all from the press conference to individual interviews. To see everything, click here.
The Multicultural Show has arrived! The show starts at 6 p.m. Thursday, February 13. Pre-sale tickets were sold for $5, but you can still buy them at the door for $7. All proceeds go to the International Traveling Tornadoes and their trip. There will also be a Silent Auction that starts at 5 p.m.
The SAT/ACT Prep Friday class on February 14 has been canceled. If you are a junior who still needs to study, ask your teachers for study materials.
Next school year, in remembrance of the tragedy at Majory Stoneman Douglas High School, Broward County Public Schools will have a half day February 14 from now on.
For the Love of Girls is a donation drive that collected feminine hygiene products (pads, tampons, towels, soap, socks, etc.). Collections were dropped off in the front office from January 21 to February 13. All proceeds are going to the Broward Human Trafficking Coalition. The college fair will be hosted in the big gym Wednesday, February 19. The doors open at 5:45 p.m. and the whole event goes until 8 p.m. Over 60 schools will be visiting, so be ready to take notes and pamphlets!
Tickets for Luna Gale, the drama department's fall production, go on sale next week in the courtyard during both lunches. The show will be Wednesday, March 11 at 7:00 p.m. and Thursday, March 12 at 5:00 p.m. Presale tickets cost $5 and tickets at the door are $10. Luna Gale is a show about two teenage drug addicts that lose custody of their newborn baby girl. The show explores themes centered around drug addiction, sexual abuse and an overworked social system. It will also be completely produced and directed by students in the drama department, so be sure to come out and support!
There will be no school Monday, February 17, in observation of President's Day. Classes will resume Tuesday, February 18 on a Blue day.
